PODOCARPUS TOTARA - TOTARA
A medium to large sized tree with needle-like leaves of yellow and dull-green colour and a full and compact growth habit. Slow growing and grows tall and straight. Bark is a light red/brown in colour with an interesting peeling nature. It is the ultimate hedging plant for security and privacy because of the compact, tight growth form which develops over time and the spiky, pin like sharpness of the leaves. Can be trimmed lightly to form very straight lines or left to grow as open area specimen. Very useful timber.
