CARPINUS BETULUS - HORNBEAM
A medium sized tree, bark is smooth and greenish grey even in older plants and leaves are serrated with prominent veins. The hornbeam retains brown foliage during the winter months retaining good shelter and privacy when used as hedging. It can be clipped and pleached to shape.
