A large tree that is capable of great height if the conditions suit. It has a long slender trunk which greys with age and bright, glossy, dark-green, creased leaves. Slow growing as a specimen tree but spectacular with time it is also a great hedging option which responds well to trimming.

Beyond the norm
The European Beech trims very well to form a classic European-hedge effect. The fresh spring new leaves are vibrant green, maturing to a dark green before turning yellow in the autumn and then browning and holding over the winter months. This makes for an ever-changing hedge through the seasons.Clipped height
